Worth SPOILING
As the name suggests, Pure Eden is a single vineyard wine from Eden Valley, planted by Charles Angas in the 1890's. Having had a series of guardians over the ensuing 100+ years, Langmeil has the honour of being the current custodian.
An acre of these gnarled old sentinels stand on a picturesque Eden hillside rooted in the grey sandy loam of decomposed granite over sandstone, and ironstone producing just a tonne or so of premium shiraz each year. Touted as a sister wine to our flagship Freedom Shiraz, the Pure Eden is a breathtaking example of what the Barossa's 'high country' has to offer.
Deep crimson with purple hues, this medium bodied wine displays great complexity. On the nose there are aromas of blue fruits with hints of earthiness and spice while the palate delivers juicy plums, soft velvety tannins balanced with sweet briary spice and a savoury finish. This truly is a beautiful wine.
