Cabernet Sauvignon's origins reveal it was the Wild Child of two similar sounding grapes after a chance crossing in the seventeenth century. Growers suspected this due to the shared characters with both Franc and Blanc. Moreover, the Sauvignon itself derives frm 'sauvage', the French for wild.

Notes of spiced black plums and salted licorice lead into a dark fruited and structured core. The tannins are drawing, but the bold fruit handles the structure quite well. A well-priced youthful cabernet that will shine with food. The Real Review - Gabrielle Poy

Malbec is a historic variety originally native to southwest France, whose centre of gravity moved to the southern hemisphere in the late twentieth century. It is renowned for its age-worthy, deeply coloured, rich and smooth wines.  Here in the Barossa, it makes a real Black Beauty of a wine.

‘Medium to full-bodied, lots of sweet dark fruit and juicy presence, tastes like Malbec in a richer style, for sure, with a pleasing chew to tannin and good length. Vibrant and good to drink.’  91+  Gary Walsh

While the Barossa is renowned for its German heritage there is an important Italian influence too.  When the Della Mina family emigrated to South Australia from Italy in the 1930s, they were joined in marriage to the Lindner family, an enduring bond was forged based on a mutual love of family, farming, food and wine.

'Deep-ish red with a tint of purple and a subtle bouquet in which dried meat and a whisper of dried fruits figure, the palate is medium bodied and savoury, drying and yet soft textured. There's a nice touch of fruit sweetness at the core. A good and credible rendition of the grape varieties.' Huon Hooke

The Live Wire represents an energetic evolution of the traditional Riesling style introduced by our migrant ancestors in the 1840s. From the renowned Barossa region it is finely balanced with upfront fruit and a tangy crispness on the finish. Vivacious and perfectly refreshing!
