This collection is Langmeil's purist representation of premium regional wines which concentrate on those varieties that the Barossa does best. By supporting over twenty-five local Barossa family growers, some of which are fifth and sixth generation Barossa growers that hail from many of the varied 'Villages' and sub-regions, we can in turn create regional Barossa blends that provide the winemaking team a cross section of developed flavour profiles to showcase.
The Barossa has garnered a Legendary reputation for the exceptional quality of its red wines from some of the world’s oldest vineyards. They were planted in the 1840s and are still cultivated by descendants of the original settlers.
The Barossa is famous for its viticulture, history and winemaking dating back to the 1840s. At its heart is the Valley Floor, a highly-prized strip of viticultural land which is the very foundation and forms the essence of this wine. A true taste of the Barossa.
Commissioned by George Fife Angas in 1836, German geologist, Johann Menge, made extensive inspections of New Silesia, now better known as the Barossa. Having surveyed the region, he wrote a prophetic letter to his employer reporting that “your land is and will prove the kernel of this province.”
The Barossa is blessed with one of the most diverse and unique landscapes of any fine wine region in the world. It is this Hallowed Ground which is fundamental to the Barossa’s premium pedigree and rarefied reputation for grape growing and winemaking of the highest quality.
