Why should man's life be reckoned
By anything so queer
As that which splits the second
But cannot tell the year?
From the poem Time, Gentlemen, Time!
by Oliver St. John Gogarty
Hello //FirstName//
If you are anything like me, on more than one occasion this year, you've had to pause for a second and ask yourself what year it is. Such is the speed with which time passes. An accomplished doctor, poet, and politician, even in 1920s Dublin, Oliver Gogarty was struck by what prisoners of time we are. I highly recommend you read the whole poem if you have the time!
My prompt to pen this email was yet another demand on our busy schedules. Australia Post has advised that the cut-off date for pre-Christmas delivery is 8 December for those intending to purchase wine for this festive season. They recommend earlier lodgement if possible.
If looking for suggestions, may I draw your attention to our specials page for festal food matching and gift ideas? With its gold medal and a top-five finish in the recent 2021 James Halliday Grenache Challenge, I heartily recommend the 2019 Rough Diamond Grenache. Its brambly and peppery spices balance the sweet, juicy red-berried fruit with soft yet subtle tannins flowing through a long and fruity finish. It is a perfect culinary match for Christmas pork, duck or turkey and will be gracing my table!
Happy Festivus,
