A family-owned and operated winery is hands-on by its very nature. It brings demands to be sure, but its beauty is the intimacy it allows with our fellowship of followers and the ability to read their cues. The weekend just passed was the Adelaide Cup here in SA, and the long weekend saw three consecutive days of around 30°C and cloudless blue skies. Many took the opportunity to visit us as COVID restrictions eased further, and it quickly became apparent that their wine preferences were seasonally driven! Always a cellar door favourite, the Bella Rouge Cabernet Rosé was in particularly high demand. It was closely followed by a cheeky little Chardonnay and then what I like to call barbecue reds, those medium-bodied, broad appeal, enjoyed all afternoon style wines.
Surmising our local public holiday was just a prelude to the upcoming and piggybacking national long weekends of Easter and ANZAC Day, we thought it timely to bring you the Bella within a trilogy of seasonally appropriate offerings. Following the LINK hereabouts, we trust you’ll find a few excellent choices for the often summer-like days Easter time can bring while still covering those early forays into the cooler winter season.
Of course, we would love to see you over either of the long weekends, time and circumstances permitting, reminding you that we are closed on Good Friday. Please also remember that our cellar door tastings are a seated experience. While we are always happy to accommodate walk-ins when possible, we encourage all visitors to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
