Langmeil

Dear //FirstName//,

Well here we are at the end of another year and while most of us are wondering where it went there are many who will be happy to see the back of it. We’ve seen a plethora of humanitarian crises around the globe culminating most recently with devastating bushfires on our doorstep here in the Barossa. Our hearts go out to the victims one and all. However, though such doom and gloom may seem as removed from the festive season as possible, to the contrary, these events serve to give some real meaning to Christmas.

The countless local families who have been hit hardest speak not of what they’ve lost, but of how lucky they are to still have their loved ones and the opportunity to start again. They express gratitude to the firefighters who came to their aid and even those who have lost cherished members of their families and communities pay tribute and give thanks for how privileged they were to have had those people in their lives.

Perhaps this year more than ever Christmas should be a time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives and give something back by simply being the reason that someone smiles. That’s ultimately what gift giving is all about. Its worth has nothing to do with monetary value.

It’s for this reason I like to share wine with family and friends at this time of year. Apart from its ready availability to me, wine always brings a smile to the face of the recipient and the time spent sharing it together leaves the heart full long after the bottle is empty.

If considering Christmas wine (click here for purchases) please keep in mind that Australia Post volumes quadruple at this time of year. As such please be advised of the following ‘preferred last days’ for pre-Christmas delivery.

WA country, QLD far north and country – Wednesday 9th December
Perth, Darwin, Alice Springs, Brisbane, NSW, VIC and Tasmania – Friday 11th December
SA Country – Monday 14th December
Adelaide – Wednesday 16th December 3, 2015

Dispatches after these dates may still arrive in time but can’t be guaranteed.

If you’re looking for something a little different to our regular line up we have a couple of other options available:

  • If size is important to you we have a range of magnums and large formats available online

  • A wineclub membership for yourself or special someone is a gift that keeps giving all year

  • And if you really don’t know what to buy we always have gift cards available for use in cellar door or online

The holiday period also gives many the chance to come and visit, to wit I take this opportunity to remind everyone that cellar door is open 10.30am to 4.30pm 7 days a week with the exception of both Christmas and New Years Day.

We hope to see many of our Langmeil faithful over the coming months and on behalf of us here in cellar door – Bec, Carolyn, Jodi, Lynne, Tracy and myself – may you enjoy a safe and happy festive season.

Speak to you soon!

Warm regards,

Jonathan Bitter

Cellar Door Manager
