The Fifth Wave is Langmeil’s most treasured Old Vine Garden Grenache and is dedicated to the fifth generation of the Lindner family. Planted in the last century, The Fifth Wave is our ‘call to arms’ to preserve, promote and protect the best of the Barossa.
Deepish, bright ruby-red colour with a good tint of purple on the meniscus. There are smoky char-oak and raspberry aromas, the palate full-bodied and gracefully crafted, with a deep well of fruit sweetness in the centre followed by a welter of tannins on the after-palate and that smoky, sooty, graphite, earthy note again. Tremendous length and drive. A very smart grenache that will surely age superbly. Rich, deep and mysterious: a benchmark Barossa grenache. Huon Hooke 97 Points.

Aroma: Dark cherry, raspberry and brambley spice mingle with hints of cedar wood with savoury tones adding to the complexity.
