Cabernet Sauvignon’s origins reveal it was the Offspring of two similar sounding grapes following a chance crossing in the seventeenth century. This was long suspected due to the closeness of the grapes’ names and the shared aromas and flavours with both Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s also pretty fly (for a red wine).
