2007 The Freedom 1843 Double Magnum

2 ONLY

Langmeil is home to The Freedom Shiraz, planted in 1843 by vigneron Christian Auricht. Escaping war and persecution in Prussia, Auricht travelled to his new homeland, finding Freedom in the Barossa Valley. The original plantings still survive and are some of the oldest and rarest vines in the world.

Wine Profile

Colour: Very deep crimson, purple.

Aroma:  Satsuma plum, dark cherry and raspberries are the primary fruits which mingle deliciously with sweet biscuit and toasty French oak.  Subtle hints of sweet and briary spice, liquorice and pepper increasing the complexity.

Palate:   Lovely sweet fruit flows over the tongue instantly balanced with fine but firm tannins and spice creating a full body yet elegant and deliciously complex wine.
