Life is for living and the season that epitomises this is spring! Awakening from a winter slumber, the first days of spring bring budburst and a renewed enthusiasm for fun and frivolity. Our Spring Fever brings out the best in everyone and is worthy of celebration with good friends and great food!

‘Pineapple, pear, brioche and honeysuckle. The keywords are delicacy and harmony. The balance of fruit, freshness and structure from perfectly judged and well-integrated oak is an art form. Its great elegance made it the jury’s well-deserved favourite. Share it with grilled red mullet and a caper risotto.’ Best in Show. Vinalies Internationale

Cabernet Sauvignon is the Offspring of two similar sounding grapes  following a chance crossing in the seventeenth century.  Growers suspected this due to the closeness of their names and the shared characteristics with both Franc and Blanc. It’s also pretty fly (for a red wine).

All Cabernet from the Dorrien and Bethany sectors, the 2019 Offspring Cabernet Sauvignon is a vast improvement over the debut-vintage 2017. It shows varietally appropriate herbal shadings but avoids outright greenness, delivering ripe cassis and blackberry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, supple and already approachable, it's a delicious, affordable introduction to Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon, capably balancing generosity and structure.

Australia prides itself as a multicultural society, yet by the 1850s the Barossa was already that and more. On the one hand, was the British Gentry and on the other were the Prussian Lutheran emigrants. Both built in bluestone to stand the test of time and established enterprises for future generations.

Medium-depth red colour with a faint tinge of purple. The bouquet is smoky and tapenade-like, with hints of olive paste and soy sauce - reflects generous charred oak. The wine is full and rich, ripe and fruit-sweet on the palate, a satisfying red with a polished presentation. An appealing wine with good cabernet character. It's good value, too. Huon Hooke 91 points

Orphan Bank is testament to Langmeil’s commitment to preserving old and rare Barossa vineyards. Ten rows of Shiraz planted pre-1860 were saved from the developer’s bulldozer and replanted alongside the original Langmeil vineyard on the banks of the North Para River. We called these ten rows the “Orphans”, but after 150 years they have a new home.

The beauty of these relocated old vines is that they never seem to yield a wine that's too ripe or too heavy. The 2018 Orphan Bank Shiraz offers up scents of red raspberries and blueberries alongside hints of mint. The oak (all French oak hogsheads, 47% new) is well-balanced and integrated into the wine, barely noticeable in this full-bodied beauty. Supple and charming, it's a very pretty Shiraz—maybe not the biggest or baddest beast—but remarkably elegant and long-lasting on the finish.

The Barossa is famous for its viticulture, history and winemaking dating back to the 1840s. At its heart is the Valley Floor, a highly-prized strip of prime viticultural land which is the very foundation and forms the essence of this wine. A true taste of the Barossa.

Marked by scents of vanilla and cedar, the 2018 Valley Floor Shiraz boasts enough blackberry and mulberry fruit to easily handle the wood (15% new American oak, with the balance a mix of used French and American barrels). Full-bodied and supple, almost creamy in texture, it's concentrated yet balanced, with a long, mouthwatering finish.
