Dear //FirstName//
Well here we are approaching another Father's Day, which means it’s almost September again. Whenever the subject of the passing days, weeks or years comes up there will inevitably be some reference to father or old father time. Why father time? Perhaps it’s that image of an authoritive figure that stands over and influences us all. Maybe it’s the perception of wisdom that can only come with time. Either way we can all agree that time is our most precious commodity and therefore the greatest gift we can give to anything or anyone.
I’m sure it’s no coincidence that as people start looking for Father’s Day gifts we see a marked increase in the sale of ‘ports’ and age-able wines. I think we must subconsciously draw comparisons between these and fathers. Started off with a fairly basic process, perhaps a little raw or fiery in their youth but then slowly and steadily mellowing as they mature and become more complex over time. When you think about it, you can find a wine to match just about any style of father!

Whatever your situation, on Fathers Day, whether it be by calling them, being with them or just quietly reflecting on them, you can always give that most precious of gifts…a few moments of your time.
