Langmeil

Dear //FirstName//

We always look forward to vintage at Langmeil as it begins another year of learning and experiencing something new in the vineyard. We also look forward to the end of vintage - this year it ran from early February to April the 15th.

Unlike the brewing or distilling industries, we only get one chance a year to grow and harvest our fruit to make the best wine we can. Practicing minimal human intervention and embracing the seasonal influence of Mother Nature ensures our wines are true to their place of origin, defining the Langmeil style and remaining 100% true to the Barossa, and our roots.

So now that the winemaking season is over its snipping and shaping time in the vineyard, which means the rubber boots are on, the snips are sharpened and a bottle of warming port is placed at the end of the vine row.

As a winemaker I think it’s important to get amongst the vines at this time of year as it helps shape my thoughts about the wines where my winemaking from the next harvest begins.

Then at the end of each pruning day I find myself in front of the fire in cellar door where I kick off the boots and warm my bones over a glass of wine. My favourite tipple drinking brilliantly now is the 2013 Three Gardens - a shiraz, mataro and grenache blend.

And if I can be so bold, at just $20 a bottle, get on it and see for yourself! Secure the last of the 2013 Three Gardens here.
