Dear //FirstName//

It's been an extremely busy and successful few months here in the beautiful Barossa. As you may recall from Jonathan's last email, it had been the intention to give you a Vintage update in March. Well here we are at the beginning of May with Easter, Vintage 2015 and indeed the Barossa Vintage Festival all behind us. Where does the time go?

As you may be able to tell by now this isn't Jon, I have hijacked the email as we are talking about children's education - something near and dear to my heart!

I couldn't imagine if my kids didn't have books to read or the opportunity to go to school everyday. The global charity Room to Read was founded in 2000 by John Wood, working with rural communities to build schools and establish libraries. [To learn more about Room to Read click here]. It has impacted the lives of over 9.7 million children by building 1,900+ schools and 17,500 libraries, sending over 31,000 girls to school and distributing over 15.6 million books.

An additional aspect important to me as a CEO is Room to Read has been awarded the Charity Navigator 4-star rating eight years in a row for exceptional fiscal responsibility - a recognition that less than 1% of their rated charities can claim.

"Imagine a world in which every child has access to an education"

Langmeil began its support in 2009 and have sponsored numerous Room to Read events and projects; the most recent was the establishment of a library (pictured above). Unfortunately this is in the village of Marpak (46km NW of Kathmandu), an area greatly affected by the recent earthquakes in Nepal.

So in addition to our usual support, for the next month Langmeil will be donating 20% of all online sales to assist in rebuilding efforts. So if you are looking to stock up your cellar - now would be a great time to do it!  Please use the word ‘Nepal’ in the promotional code to help us track it all. [Link to Langmeil]

Our Chief Winemaker Paul has promised to pen an in-depth Vintage report in due course, but in the meantime Vintage 2015 can best be summed up in 3 words; early, fast and superb. Apart from a few frost affected vineyards all reports suggest that yields were a little better than the last two years and the quality of the fruit has winemakers waxing lyrically!

On behalf of the entire team at Langmeil, we do truly appreciate your support throughout the year and hopefully together we can do our part to help Nepal.

Best Regards,

Amy Heinicke
