“Ich bin ein Berliner “(I am a Berliner), a quote recognised by all, famously delivered in John F Kennedy’s 1963 address to the people of West Berlin. A lesser known phrase from the same speech, also spoken in German, was “lasst sie nach Berlin kommen” (let them come to Berlin). We may have been a little slow on the up take, but come to Berlin we did for the 2017 Berlin Wine Trophy and what a welcome we received!

In a field of some 6,200 wines from around the world just 56 Aussies were awarded gold medals with no fewer than 10 of these going to Langmeil! The highest accolade of Grand Gold was awarded to a mere 21 wines globally and we were particularly delighted to have our 2014 Pure Eden Shiraz be one of just three Australian wines to receive this honour. Stepping out of the shadow of its sister, our flagship Freedom Shiraz, the Pure Eden received both a Gold and Grand Gold Medal for successive vintages. High praise for a Barossa high country Shiraz.

Having recently created a Pure Eden 3 pack for our Fellowship of Followers members, we have now created the following Taste of Gold sample packs exclusively for our mailing list. 

Not necessarily available from cellar door, many of these wines are exclusive.  All are gold!

Footnote: Having also won gold, we would love to have offered the 2014 The Freedom 1843 Shiraz but alas it is already sold out. Look for the release of the 2015 vintage in October.
