Dear //FirstName//

Particular to the human condition is the tendency to form preconceived ideas, never more so than views on wine and it’s best vintages. This is perhaps with good reason when you consider the pattern that seems to occur in outstanding South Australian reds over the last thirty years: ’86, ’88, ’94, ’96, ’98, ’02, ’04, ’06, ’08, ’10 and 12. All great and all even!

However, to have the ‘even year’ blinkers on, as so many do, is to deprive yourself of some cracking pattern breakers: ’91, ’99, ’05 and ’13 to name a few (nearly 20 years on and ’99 is still a personal favourite).

If you find yourself to be an ‘evens’ devotee, no matter how ardent, I implore you to break ranks for Vintage 2015. Talk to any winemaker in the Barossa and the same superlatives keep popping up: strongly coloured, richly flavoured, beautifully balanced. Just a stellar vintage.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. The 2015 Old Vine Garden wines are now on the shelf and will be on limited tasting in cellar door for the month of November. As we have particularly small quantities of Jackaman's, Freedom and Pure Eden, we won’t be showing it to everyone so if you do visit be sure to mention this email inviting you to taste!

If you can’t get here you can always call me or place an order online, keeping in mind that the Freedom is bound to be sold out early in the new year. (Please note Zealous Club Members will receive the Freedom in their Summer instalment).

From a personal perspective, I’m really hard pressed to pick a favourite out of this line up but if you are yet to savour the delights of the Pure Eden Shiraz, 2015 is the vintage to do it!

Kind regards as always.
